BIO:
Maria lives in beautiful Spokane Washington and works as an educator for Providence Medical Group.  She has been a pediatric nurse for over 30 years and specialized in Pediatric Sedation and PACU for the past 14 years.Certification(s): ANCC Pediatrics; CPAN.
Professional Involvement: Vice President, NPANA 2015-2016; American Heart Association PALS and PEARS instructor; Sigma Theta Tau member.
Goals for NPANA:
To see younger generations of nurses involved at the local level in the NPANA component and leadership positions expanded beyond the immediate board members. For 2016-2017, to see thriving districts for each of the NPANA 5 states. President's Letter

BIO:

Nan has worked as a nurse for 32 years and always has had a love for pediatrics, but has worked in many areas.  She has worked in the perianesthesia area for the past 12 years at Shriners Hospital For Children.  She enjoys the challenge and the constant learning of PACU.  She has enjoyed the NPANA and ASPAN organizations for their support and promotion of excellence in the perianesthesia arena.  She looks forward to working with all the board and members of NPANA.  Outside of nursing, she loves the outdoors, walking,traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Goals for NPANA:

Nan's goals for NPANA are to increase involvement for all members and to promote the organization to those who may not even know that it is available for them.

BIO:

Kara has been a nurse for 22 years, most of which have been in the peri-op area; mainly outpatient surgery.   She is the mom of 2 teenage boys.  She is eager to be more widely involved to enhance the PeriAnesthesia profession and contribute to the professional networking.  She has enjoyed the opportunities NPANA has provided.

Goals for NPANA:

She would love to see membership increase and desires to be involved in safeguarding and helping to maintain the financial stability of NPANA as treasurer.

BIO:
Carmen has lived in the NW for 30 years with Olympia as her hometown.  She has been a nurse for 37 years, and is proud to say a PACU nurse for 36 years! She joined ASPAN in 1988, and became active in NPANA as well, serving as Secretary. She just returned after 10 years absence (& working at an Outpatient Surgery Center) to a hospital environment.  She is proud to return as your next Secretary of NPANA.
Goals for NPANA:
She wants to continue to promote membership and education, with an emphasis on education closer to home in the local districts within NPANA.

Bio:

Lauri currently works as the PeriAnesthesia Nurse Educator for Providence Health Care in Spokane, WA.  She has 20+ years of pediatric and adult nursing experience and is excited to join this amazing group of PeriAnesthesia nurses! She loves supporting professional growth and development, including advancing nursing degrees and certification!

Goals:

To support increased communication, engagement, and access to PeriAnesthesia information for PeriAnesthesia Nurses.

Barbara has been a nurse for over 27 years and has worked both in the PACU and Critical Care areas as staff nurse, educator, and manager.  She currently works at Kootenai Health in Couer d'Alene, Idaho.
