Secretary - Jamie Conant, BSN, RN, CPAN, CAPA

CONTACT INFORMATION:
npanasecretary@gmail.com

BIO:

Jamie Conant is from Fairbanks, Alaska (born and raised!).  It's not very often when a person gets to say they were born and work in the same exact hospital!  She graduated with an AAS in Nursing from the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) in 2004 and started her career in Med/Surg nursing; later, transferring to Nursing informatics.  It wasn't until 2010 when her son had surgery that she found her true passion in Perianesthesia Nursing.  She spent 3 years in Pre-Op and Stage 2, and in 2013  was sent to Northern Colorado Medical Center to train in PACU.  When she returned home, a true fire had been lit.  She graduated again from UAA with a BSN in 2015.  Through the trials and tribulations of staffing and training shortages in the middle of a rural and remote location, an opportunity arose for a management position including PAT, Pre-Op, and PACU I/II.  She is certified in both CAPA and CPAN!

Goals for NPANA:

Two  goals this year is to be more actively involved at the Regional level to learn from and serve members of the profession as Secretary of NPANA and to finally be able to get the ball rolling in forming/representing an Alaska component.  There is so much to learn and do, it excites me to think of the difference we can all make as part of the big amazing team we call NPANA.
