Job Description

BIO:
Clinical Manager South PACU/Pre-op at OHSU, Portland, Oregon.  NPANA member for over twenty years (20).  Number of years in peri-anesthesia nursing, twenty-five (25).  Involved in ASPAN as SPG co-coordinator.  Pas co-planner for CPAN/CAPA review classes.  Co-chair with Anesthesia Medical Director for peri-anesthesia best practices committee.  CPAN/CPPA Champion and Coach, ABPANC.  Peri-anesthesia Educator.

My goal for NPANA is to spread the word regarding opportunities related to support and involvement in the local peri-anesthesia society.  Education is a very important aspect of working in the peri-anesthesia setting.  Brainstorming and planning for continuing best practice educational avenues as well as collaborating  with facilities throughout the region is essential.  I would like to see our peri-anesthesia nurses' expertise be validated by increasing the opportunities for certification and recognition for the work they do.  Mentoring those that are interested in 'reaching their potential' in peri-anesthesia nursing as well as encouraging the involvement in NPANA and ASPAN.
