The American Board of Perianesthesia  Nursing Certification (ABPANC) exists to offer CPAN ® and CAPA ®  certification programs. CPAN® stands for Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse; CAPA® stands for Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse. These credentials are federally registered certification marks and granted to registered nurses who successfully pass a certification exam.
