BIO:
I am delighted to be "recycled" as an NPANA Board member. As your Vice President I will be overseeing Sholarship Funds and its distribution, your Educational Opportunities, and learning form Pat, the skills necessary to be your President next year. A personal goal is promoting CPAN and CAPA Certification and serve on the ABPANC Resource Leader Team.

Legacy Health in Portland, Oregon, has been my employer for the past 36 years, with the past 16 years or so, in the Short Stay Unit and Pre-Admission Departments. In the Short Stay Unit we work closely with the PACU staff.

I orginally receved my Diploma from Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center School of Nursing

I look forward to hearing from all of you as to what you need from NPANA, and in what manner you are willing to help us all keep NPANA the great Component it has always been. Remember that the 2011 ASPAN National Conference will be in Seattle, so NPANA will be very involved, and looking for your assistance.

BIO:
I graduated from Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing with a BSN a little over 20 years ago. I have worked at Providence Saint Vincent Hospital and Medical Center for most of that time. I started as a Med-Surg floor nurse. I have been in my present job for over 10 years. Currently I work as a Staff Nurse/ Relief Charge Nurse in our Short Stay unit as a Pre-op and Post-op Phase 2 nurse. We have 53 beds in our unit that feed into over 25 ORs. I have been an ASPAN and NPANA member for around 8 years. I have also been certified as a CAPA nurse for a little over that amount of time. A little piece of trivia, I was one of the first on our unit to become certified. I have been a member of NPANA-GPD (Greater Portland District) helping to put on conferences and encouraging nurses to join ASPAN and become certified for several years. I am looking forward to my years on the NPANA Board. I feel that I learn something new about the organization or myself everyday. Looking forward to meeting you all, my fellow NPANA members.
