Jean Sutton Service Award Policy:

This award is designed to honor exemplary service that is “above and beyond” the usual required of an active NPANA member with continuous membership of five or more years.
  1. Recipients may be recommended to the NPANA Board of Directors by the membership for consideration

  2. It will be the sole decision of the Board of Directors to accept or deny granting the service award.

  3. There will be no recommended frequency of granting the Jean Sutton Service Award. Recipients will be appropriate for meritorious service to the organization

  4. The award will be announced at any NPANA general membership meeting.
The award consists of:
  • Be recognized for service to NPANA / ASPAN “above and beyond”

  • Receive your very own plaque
  • Your name engraved on a perpetual plaque to be displayed at NPANA functions


Ruth Foster Award Policy:

The Ruth Foster Award is given in honor of one of the founding members of NPANA.

It is designed to honor a commitment of Continuing Education and the Specialty of PeriAnesthesia Nursing. A member of NPANA is eligible after five years of continuous membership in NPANA. Eligibility will be available again five years after receiving the award.

The President and Secretary will draw the award at the Board of directors meeting before Spring Seminar. The Secretary will place the names of all eligible members into contention. Then name will be randomly drawn and announced in OFF THE CUFF and at the Spring Seminar. The Secretary will notify the winner by letter.

The award consists of:
  • One year ASPAN membership fee reimbursement


Recruiter Of the Year Award Policy:

This award goes to the NPANA member who recruited the most new members for the calendar year as reported to NPANA from ASPAN. In case of a tie, there will be a random drawing. This award will be announced at the Spring NPANA Business Meeting.

The award consists of:
  • Name of recruiter engraved on a perpetual plaque to be displayed at NPANA functions.
  • One year ASPAN membership fee reimbursement
